Hunting Season

Its that time of the year again when those who have money dig out their firearms and go hunting. Now why do I say those of have money? A pal costs roughly $130, A hunting licence aproxmently $40 and tags run about $25 each and are no garentee even of getting meat. A rifle can run anywhere between $100 to $500 plus dollars and hundred dollar rifles are few and far between. Not to mention the $200 dollars one requires to spend on a deep freeze that will house ones game (if one is lucky they can find a free working one that is not going to die in the next year) or the cost of having a home big enough to house the deep freeze. There is also the extra electrical cost of running the deep freeze. There is also the cost of ammunition and the fuel to go somewhere to hunt. End result those who could use something other then a diet of cheap pasta and hot dogs can not afford to hunt. I believe we would be better off if you have a income that is below the poverty line then ones Pal should be subsadised. Hunting licences should be half off and you should get one free tag a year. I am sure that there some more ideas that are viable within the rules of our society that would make it so that those that could use the meat the most could hunt. As things stand those who live below the poverty line can not afford to help provide for themselves and I personally feel that this is very wrong here in Canada where we have a abundance of wild game.
